Graduate Students
Jill supervises masters and doctoral students as well as post-doctoral fellows. Many of her graduate students have been fully or partially supported by SSHRC research grants. She has a strong record of attracting highly qualified graduate students, including those who have won SSHRC Doctoral (Canada Graduate Scholarship), SSHRC Masters, and USask Dean’s graduate scholarships. Jill always encourages her graduate students to publish, and together they have co-authored many peer-reviewed journal articles and presented dozens of conference presentations both in Canada and internationally.
Jill’s approach to graduate student supervision is as a trusted advisor and guide. She connects students to the knowledge, skills, resources, and opportunities needed to be independently successful in a research program and beyond in the professional realm.
